When I started this blog, my goal was to be a source of hope about becoming a new mom after 35. I had been through a journey that is becoming more prevalent, but that still isn’t talked about very often, and I wanted to offer some insight. I know that having a baby when your peers are sending their kids off to college can be lonely, so I wanted to bring dialogue and community to all the old new moms out there. And, over the past few months, I have helped to build a community of hundreds of “old new moms” from across the globe and it has been so rewarding.
Well, it turns out that I will now get to write about being a new mom, and pregnancy, after FORTY.
Yes. You read that correctly. I’M PREGNANT.
Shocked? Me, too!
Of course, we have been discussing the idea of having a baby as a possibility, but fate decided to take the wheel. It turns out that as I was losing sleep over the anxiety of being on the fence, I had already been kicked off and I didn’t even know it. Never (NEVER!) did I anticipate this plot twist…but here we are and we are so grateful.

So, if you have taken to reading my little blog, I’ll still post about the things I had planned – balancing motherhood with career, cool products to help with bouncing back and aging, and fun things like potty training. Now, I’ll also get to share my new journey of being pregnant at 40 (fallen arches, morning sickness, swollen ankles, oh my!) and, of course, balancing life with a preteen, a toddler, a newborn, and two dogs.
Buckle up, boys and girls…it’s going to be a wild, exciting ride!

Yay! Congratulations! I’m 39 and 31 weeks pregnant. I’m pretty excited to have one more because it was looking like I may never have another one.
Looking forward to reading more. Great post. Thanks Again. Keep writing. Emyle Brett Savory
